Four counties ring completed, 109 miles, 94 locks and one very long tunnel in 12 days. We met some great people along the way and special mention to Alan and Angela Maitland and their two beautiful red setters in NB Valerie with whom we leapfrogged all the way from Middlewich to Stone and had some good chats along the way. It makes such a difference! Of course , as soon as we decided to head home, brilliant sunshine and blue skies appeared as per the law of sods!
